Digital Photography Money Making Tip #9
Making Money with a digital camera is a definite possibility. There are many ways to go about doing this. Most of these ideas will require a small financial investment, in addition to your digital camera and digital photo editing software. All require a substantial investment of your time.
For this tip, I'd like you to consider the wonderful world of amateur sports. Make a point of finding out about the sporting events taking place in your community.
First, think golf and golf tournaments. Wherever there is a golf course, there will be golf tournaments. Negotiate with the management and arrive upon a deal for taking candid or posed photographs throughout the tournament.
This could go two ways: You could negotiate a set fee with the manager of the golf course to take candid or posed photos. Either deliver hard copies or upload digital images to a web site. The course management could then notify their members who could download the pictures as desired.
Alternatively, you could take wander around taking candid photos of golfers teeing off or of groups of golfers interacting.
Wear a t-shirt that promotes your business, wear a cap with a sign announcing your digital photography service, have brochures, posters and order forms. Take orders when possible.
You might also take candid snaps without orders, and then set up a booth near the 19th hole and collect email addresses from the golfers and spectators. Upload low resolution images to a web site, notify the members on your email list and include the price you are charging for prints or high resolution digital images.
Think similar approaches to bowling tournaments, netball tournaments, tennis tournaments, dragon boat races, fishing derbies, sailing regattas, curling bonspeils, etc.
Another possibility involves kids and sports. What about following a Little League team throughout a season, taking candid shots and action shots? At the end of the year, you could create a scrapbook or photo album using the best of the pictures. I'm guessing you would sell one to each set of proud parents. Don't forget to take pictures of the teams' more unskilled players. These kids contribute in their own way and they have proud parents!
Another thought is to make a calendar of the Little League kids, or of the golf tournament, or any other sporting event. Sell the calendar to athletes, managers, coaches, facility management, etc. If there is a golf course or bowling alley involved, arrange to leave calendars at the front desk where prospective buyers can order them.
And you do know that your business name, contact information and web site address goes on every calendar, album or scrapbook that you produce, don't you?
You might also assemble a PowerPoint presentation of your pictures, or a screensaver, and sell those electronic items.
You are on your way to making money with digital photography.
This is just one money making suggestion. Check the article list for more ways to make money with digital photography.
Thank You!
