Digital Photography Money Making Tip #4
Making money with digital photography is easier than it sounds.
You might think it impossible, given than almost everyone has a digital camera or camera phone these days. However, consider this: many camera owners don't know how to use their cameras and take dreadful pictures. Secondly, if it's a special event, people get caught up in the moment and forget to take pictures. Thirdly, the person who takes the photographs seldom shows up in group pictures. These are all good reasons why people are open to the idea of using a professional photographer.
This is where you come in.
Let's start thinking of kid's birthday parties.
Do parents in your community hold children's birthday parties at themed venues? Do children get invited to birthday parties hosted at bowling alleys, swimming pools, art galleries, kids' museums, fast food restaurants, recreation centers, laser galleries and other places?
Contact the mangers of establishments that promote children's birthday parties and see what you can negotiate. Perhaps the manager will present your services when parents book the parties, or perhaps you can leave a pile of brochures where parents will see them.
Your brochures or pamphlets could suggest the many ways your digital photography could enhance the fun.
For example, for one photography package, for which you charge extra, of course, you could hire someone to accompany you in a clown costume and take pictures of the kids with the clown. /p>
If you have a small portable printer, you could offer to take pictures as each child enters the door, then print the picture promptly so the hostess can slip a copy in that child's gift bag. You could also offer to take candid shots throughout the life of the party, then post them to a web site where parents and partygoers could download them and print them out as desired. You could offer to build a PowerPoint presentation of the pictures and send it to the host to distribute as they wish.
You can come up with tons of ideas to sell the promote digital photography at a children's birthday party.
When you get a booking, be sure to bring plenty of brochures and business cards. Ask the hostess to send one home with each child. You might also consider providing a coupon offering a discount to anyone who books your digital photography services. Don't forget to give one to the host. They might have other children who need parties. Failing that, there is always next year.
And one more thought - suggest to the venue manager that you create a bulletin board or other display showing pictures of happy birthday parties. It's a good marketing tool for them to use to promote their birthday parties - and a good marketing tool for you to promote your digital photography services.
This is just one money making suggestion. Check the article list for more ways to make money with digital photography.
